چکیده
Assessing incidence and trends of droughts floods can provide essential information for better water resource management, particularly in the context ongoing climate change. The present study has examined prevalence drought flood events Godavari basin, India, last four decades using Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) 3 months 9 months, their Mann–Kendall’s test Sen’s slope. spatial distribution, frequency, intensity episodes basin are not uniform. A 20-year breakdown, 1980–1999 2000–2019, shows a drastic increase frequency Manjra Pranhita sub-basins, while Upper, Indravati, northern part Weinganga have registered increased frequency. monthly trend SPEI-3 that most sub-basins negative (increasing dryness) only during winter under SPEI-9 scenario both strong throughout year. slope estimations detected an increasing severity from to SPEI-9. Dryness is highest Pranhita, followed by Manjra, Wardah, Lower wetness Upper Godavari, rest do show any significant trend. interior districts more prone high conditions near future if current persist. To sustain change challenges, vulnerable need urgent structural non-structural changes management practices.

India: Flood Management - Damodar River Basin
Information is provided about the approach and experience in flood management in the Damodar river basin of India. This is achieved through a scheme for the integrated operation of a number of reservoirs on that river and on its tributaries for the purpose of irrigation, hydropower generation and flood protection. Of particular interest is the recent change in policy towards a multi-disciplinar...
متن کاملMineralogy and Petrology of the Krishna Godavari Basin on Shore Area, East Coast of India
Shales are defined as fine-grained terrigenous sediments and rocks that contain 50% or more of terrigenous, and generally argillaceous, clastic components less than 0.062 mm in size. In the shales, clay-size components often dominate their rock properties, such as density, plasticity, parting, compatibility and swelling. Generally the size boundary between clay and silt is 4μm, but most clay mi...

The discovery of hydrocarbons (mainly gas) in commercial quantities from Gondwanan sediments in the Mandapeta ®eld of Krishna-Godavari Basin, India, provided impetus for intensi®ed exploration in Mandapeta and the adjoining Kommugudem, Draksharama and Endamuru ®elds. Both oil and gas have been found in the reservoirs of Mandapeta (Triassic) and Golapalli (Early Cretaceous) formations. Mature, l...

Coastal lands around Bay of Bengal in Central Godavari Delta are mainly agriculture fields and two times annually paddy crops putting in the study area. Canals of Godavari River are the main source of water for irrigation. Geophysical and geochemical investigations were carried out in the study area to decipher subsurface geologic formation and assessing seawater intrusion. Electrical resistivi...
